The psychedelia-tinged metal outfit Steel Prophet was formed in Connecticut in the late '80s by guitar player Steve Kachinsky Blakmoor and vocalizer Gary Stocking; the original speech rhythm section featured bassist Wayne Faircloth and drummer Harry Blackwell, the boy of jazz drummer Ed Blackwell. Blackwell shortly deceased undischarged to the poor caliber of his drum outfit and was replaced by John "J.T." Tarascio; Stocking, meanwhile, was kicked out after planetary, alcohol-fueled behaviour. Blakmoor and Tarascio affected to California in 1988, where they recruited bassist Vince Dennis, vocalist Scott Lindsenbardt, and second guitar player Domenic Chavira. Lindsenbardt was shortly disposed the boot in favour of ex-Ascendance singer Nick Mantis. Unfortunately, Mantis' dose problems lED to his existence replaced by Rick Mythiasin (wHO at one time exhausted several days as an other fellow appendage of Pantera), piece Chavira's place was taken by Jon Paget. Steel Prophet hit the studios to record a demonstration and gigged extensively around L.A. from 1990-1992, later which Paget was replaced by Horacio Colmenares. The dance band sign-language a deal with the Foundations 2000 label; although they never released an album for the label, a demonstration highborn The Goddess Principle was eventually issued in Europe in 1995. After a five-song EP in 1996, Continuum, both Tarascio and Colmenares left wing, with the latter departure on to pattern New Eden. Their places were taken by drummer Pete Parada and guitar player Jon Pons, on an individual basis. Into the Void (Hallucinogenic Conception) was released in 1997, later which Steel Prophet signed with Nuclear Blast. Their label debut, Dark Hallucinations, appeared in 1999, and the ring toured Europe in support. Before the 2000 release of the review, Messiah, Parada left field, and Kevin Cafferty was recruited as a irregular studio surrogate; Karl Rosqvist eventually coupled as the full-time drummer. Pons also gone after the album's freeing and was replaced by Jim Williams.
